Alco Day at Finca La Almoraima

The “Alco Days” series had a new edition at Finca La Almoraima, a 14,000-hectare agricultural, livestock, forestry and tourist complex in the heart of the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, in the province of Cádiz.

During the meeting, we shared knowledge with our farmers in this area of southern Spain, which includes the municipalities of San Martín del Tesorillo and Castellar de la Frontera, among other towns that, as in many other productive areas of the country, they face the great challenges that the transformation towards sustainable and profitable crops entails, especially in the cultivation of avocado. In this sense, Grupo Alcoaxarquía shared with its partners the common advances in R+D+I (including our collaboration with CSIC entity) related to environmentally friendly production and, at the same time, guaranteeing product quality and added value in marketing. Concepts that are synthesized in the own methodology that the group has called AlcoNature.

This own comprehensive agronomic system uses state-of-the-art technological tools, based on sensors, real-time transmission systems, data analysis and artificial intelligence. But this model by itself would not be able to succeed without taking into account our farmers in each area, their know-how and the peculiarities of each territory; hence the importance of listening to owners-partners, managers, technicians and sales representatives from the different productive areas, such as the one surrounding Finca La Almoraima. Because, as the African proverb says, “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”.
